Q: What inspired you or led you to your current career?

A: I have 2 positions, 1 is I have a corporate position outside of sales for a linen company selling contract linen for a while and now I’m the direct sales side of that in decorated apparel. A lot of business to business experience in the last few years and in that time, I had an opportunity to train couple of my replacements in moving throughout the company. They gave me all positive comments and all the topics I talked about in their PEP talk were relevant. Then it morphed into an online business were I’m able to train sales professionals in what makes them the most bang for their buck, getting them more referrals that gives them more commissions and gives them free time.  I had the opportunity to work with a few salespeople locally and growing my online site as well. It’s been fun and it’s different every day.

What’s great about the products and services that Send out cards offers is when you’re talking about outside sales, it could take 7-12 time in order to close a client and I just got it down to 4 or 5. That is by taking 1 of your steps in follow up process and making a greeting card. It got to the decision maker, passed on to the gate keeper, it got to their heart  and it got me in front of them. Being able to use the product and share our product.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Rapid City, and what do you love there?

A: My husband and I enjoy 2 restaurants in Rapid City. 1 would be the Colonial House and the waiter knows us very well. They suggested the Frozen Blueberry Margarita. 2nd is Botticelli’s and I really love their veal Parmesan it makes my heart happy.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in Rapid City?

A: Been here for 10 years. I moved away briefly, and back almost 2 years. This community is So progressive!

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in Rapid City?

A: I would say that the most interesting person that I’ve met in Rapid City, she is no longer here and moved to Colorado to be with family. She is Shawn Wilson who owns Shaviq Art Gallery. I met here when she opened the summer I moved here. I had instant best friends in that place.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be?  And why?

A: Honestly, I would pack up and hit as many as State Parks, National Forest, Mountains and Trail woods I could find. I have 2 German Shorthairs that are balls of energy.

Q: What is your favorite movie OR what is the first movie you remember seeing in a theatre?

A: My favorite movie is Top Secret. It has Val Kilmer in it and the movie itself you have to pay attention because there are these silly little things that happens in the background. If you are not watching for it, you would even see it or makes sense. I just enjoy a good weird movie.

Q: What advice would you give a crowd of people?

A: Listen to the little voice in your head when it tells you to do a little act of kindness. Some people say, “Follow your promptings.”

Q: What is something on your bucket list?

A: Create a cookbook, design a clothing line, and write a sales book. One of the things on my list is The Grand Canyon. I went there when I was too young to remember.

Q: What is your love language?

A: I think it is words of  affirmation. Having my husband say he believes in me which has been the part of growing my business. Having the affirmation at home, no body matters at that point.

Q: What is your favorite music/ 3 bands you would like to see (dead or alive)?

A: I’d love to see Metallica again, Corb Lund he is a good performer, Shania Twain  and George Strait if they had a concert together, I would die.

Q: What current / former local business makes you the most nostalgic about Rapid City?

A: Being involved in Big Brothers and Big Sisters. I don’t currently have kids right not but to mentor someone and watch them grow is really cool.

Q: Choosing anyone alive and a non-relative: with whom would you love to have lunch?  Why?  Where in Rapid City would you have lunch?

A: Neil Strauss, I just want to know what’s his take on in life. I would take him to The Bistro

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about Rapid City?

A: I’d like to say the weather. I did not grow up here, so the mountains affect the weather.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?

A: My 5 years is pretty clear to me; my husband and I is working so hard to pay off our house. If will stay on track that we’re on, we have 18 more months left on our house. Then we will build a garage, do something with the house and have kids. In 10 years, I really don’t know what’s it going to look like but it’s okay.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?

A: Probably my love for Val Kilmer.

Q: What 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?

A: Just “being” there. When I think about being home, I’m thinking being on my deck and it feels I’m on a tree house. Paid off (mine!)

Q: If you were cast into a major motion picture and had your choice of anyone to be your co-star, who would you choose?

A: Val Kilmer.

Q: If you had a full-time staff member that was fully paid for, who would you choose?

Chef, Housekeeper, Driver, Coach, Physical Fitness Trainer, or Nanny?

A: Definitely a coach and for my husband a housekeeper.

Q: Is there anything about Rapid City that stands out to you and you want to convey?

A: One of the coolest parts about the Rapid City community is the ways we give. I’m very inspired about the Presidents and the giving away the scarves, hats, mittens, coats and things all year round. It’s the spirit of giving, if we can embrace that even more, take it to work with us and embody that into our homes. If we took a moment to look at the Presidents  and what the community does with them. I think we could do more.

Q: Whom would you nominate for The Faces of Rapid City?

A. Wendy Rossman (Owner of In Stiches) & Darcy Beatty (Owner of The Bistro)
