Debbie Pack

Meet Debbie Pack. She is a worshiper at heart and has enjoyed playing music for many years together with her husband, Scott. She’s also been involved in nonprofit organization and has passion in helping people. To learn more about Debbie’s amazing journey, read below!

 

Q: What inspired you or led you to your current career?

A: I was raised in the Church and from the time I was a little girl I always thought I would some day be a missionary.

As my career unfolded I found myself in leadership roles working in the nonprofit sector helping people who are living in poverty.  My current position is with a non profit Christian Broadcasting Organization. Bethesda Christian Broadcasting. My role as an Account Executive (advertising sales representative) for Power 107.1 KSLT, 97.9 The Breeze and 88.3 KLMP gives me the opportunity to serve my community and as an On air personality for 97.9 The Breeze, I enjoy sharing a positive up lifting message (10 am until 2 pm)  on Sunday Brunch with Debbie Pack.

Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Rapid City, and what do you love there?

A: My favorite restaurant is Botticelli Ristorante owned by my great friend, Michelle, we met when I moved here in 7th Grade, so we’ve been friends since middle school, and she’s been in the business for 20 years. I can’t pronounce the dish that I love but it’s really good!!

Q: How long have you lived or worked in Rapid City?

A: Our family moved here in 1972 just after the Rapid City flood.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in Rapid City?

A: Ray Hildebrandt of Prairie Edge but. he’s not living anymore but he was very supportive of the mission of Habitat for Humanity and he was the first one to step up when we were planning for the Garfield project up in the North Rapid. The Garfield school was re purposed for housing and the property around its Habitat Homes were built.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?

A: Ireland probably because I’m Irish and I can just visualize the countryside. I just want to be there.

Q: What is your favorite movie OR what is the first movie you remember seeing in a theatre?

A: My favorite movie is August Rush and the first one I remember seeing was Mary Poppins.

Q: What advice would you give a crowd of people?

A: I’d encourage them to practice gratitude.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?

A: A Mission Trip.

Q: What is your favorite music/ 3 bands you would like to see (dead or alive)?

A: I love so many genres. I’m drawn to folk and country music. I’m drawn to that, but I don’t listen to it on regular basis. And for someone I would like to see, I’d say Michael Jackson, Dolly Parton, and Elvis Presley.

Q: What current / former local business makes you the most nostalgic about Rapid City?

A: Performing Arts Center, it used to be my high school. I started high school there and I actually performed on that stage, once for a musical and once was our worship team.

Q: Choosing anyone alive and a non-relative with whom would you love to have lunch? Why and where would you have lunch?

A: I have two people that I’m thinking about. Kate Kinnan, the wife of Pastor Dave at Fountain Springs Church, she’s really amazing. And another gal is Laci Sosa, she’s quite a story. Botticelli’s

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about Rapid City?

A: In comparison to places I’ve traveled, it has charm, it has the black hills of course, we have hiking trails, lakes, historical monuments, people are friendly, so we are surrounded by so many fun things, and it’s a destination for tourism.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?

A: Living comfortably and I was saying I hope to be teaching Yoga or having my own studio.  And also, this is more for my husband, but I’d like to see him have his own business making instruments, making guitars.

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?

A: I have to say my music career. I recorded a Jingle for a Real Estate Company. And then, maybe some people don’t know that I’m on some local music CD’s.. My husband and I played music professionally for 18 years.

Q: What 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?

A: Family, Safe and Love.

Q: If you had a full-time staff member that was fully paid for, who would you choose? Chef, Housekeeper, Driver, Coach, Physical Fitness Trainer, or Nanny?

A: Housekeeper would be nice.

Q: If you were cast into a major motion picture and had your choice of anyone to be your co-star, who would you choose?

A: Katie Greseth. Just adventure and having fun especially going together like New Mexico.
